The world’s first & only Michelin-starred taquería, El Califa de León, is making its West Valley debut at Westgate Entertainment District for a four-day culinary takeover, June 26–29, hosted in partnership with Salt Tacos y Tequila, Experience Glendale & GrinGO App.
Hailing from Mexico City & recently honored by the Michelin Guide, El Califa de León has earned international acclaim for its deceptively simple yet masterfully executed tacos. From the iconic Taco Gaonera – featuring thinly sliced beef filet seasoned with nothing more than salt & lime – to other crowd-favorites like chuleta (pork chop) & costilla (beef rib), each taco is served on fresh, house-made corn tortillas that embody the soul of authentic street food.
Hosted on the patio of the former Wicked Wolf space (9425 W. Entertainment Blvd.), this open-air pop-up brings sizzling griddles, chef-driven flavor, & an electric street taco atmosphere right to the heart of Glendale. Doors open daily at 12PM, but early arrival is strongly encouraged – quantities are limited & lines are expected.
There won’t be on-site seating at the pop-up, but we’ve got you covered: grab your tacos & head straight to Salt Tacos y Tequila just steps away! Cool off in the AC, order a drink, share some apps, & enjoy your Michelin-star meal in comfort.
